Kerr Lake Dinner
Kerr Lake Dinner

After spending several hours in Raleigh visiting with friends and former PSU colleagues, Paul and Sarah, we headed north for Kerr Lake, a Corps of Engineers project. For the second time in our travels, we had the entire campground to ourselves. We arrived just after sunset and once settled in, set about making dinner. We try to eat well on the road. This evening was grilled halibut and sweet potato, a nice oaky chardonnay and key lime pie (albeit several days old) for dessert.

The real beauty of the campground wasn’t the lake, the sunset or the sunrise in the morning but the absolute quiet. No other people, no wind, no rain, not even peepers. Nothing. Absolutely wonderful.

Facilities were well maintained and very clean although it was a bit of a walk to the showers. That was a good thing.
